Scream star Neve Campbell has shed light on her decision to leave the widely popular slasher franchise, admitting that wage negotiations triggered her departure.
In a new interview with People, Campbell addressed her choice to chop ties with the Scream franchise and never return to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott within the upcoming sixth installment. The actress defined that she received an offer that she felt “didn’t equate to the worth” she has brought to the franchise for the previous 25 years, so she determined to stand her floor and step again from the next movie.
“As a lady in this enterprise, I assume it’s really essential for us to be valued and to battle to be valued,” Campbell mentioned, further explaining the rationale behind her exit. “I actually don’t imagine that if I were a person and had done five installments of a huge blockbuster franchise over 25 years, that the quantity that I was supplied could be the quantity that would be provided to a person.
